It's nice to see brothas walking around with a renewed sense of pride and hope. I always knew ya'll had it in you! I was telling another member that's there's a lot of Obama's in our communities and families, but all we ever were exposed to was the negative.
Many of us know that what was being portrayed in the media were the exceptions to the rule, i have a lot of Obama's in my family!
Keep your heads up, brothas and sistas! Enjoy this moment and then continue grindin', we still have more to do!

I still can't believe it. I processed it kinda, like oh, we have a Black President. Then I'll wake up the next day, and say, "We have a Black First Family." It is still a shocker no matter how many times you think about it.
IT MADE ME FEEL LIKE I ACTUALLY BELONGED IN SOCIETY AS STRONG YOUNG BLACK SINGLE FATHER

I had a strange feeling Election Day, I couldn't put my finger on it, but it just felt different and here in Georgia, it was a glorious day, weather-wise.
As I was watching the results come in, when he took Pennsylvania and Virginia, I just knew he was going to do it for some reason. I couldn't help but reflect on the stories my grandparents told me about what they had endured...the humiliations, the violence, the demeaning acts done simply to break them and the courage they had to keep on keepin' on, despite the obsticles put before them.
I thought of what I had seen and experienced in my short time here and the tears just rolled, I was so overcome with the power of the many emotions and it made me so proud of not only President Obama, but all of those who lived, died and fought so hard for us to make it to this wonderful achievement.
I felt that at last, I finally belonged and that I was so blessed that I was able to live long enough to see that moment happen.
How about you, Michael, as a Black man, how did it make YOU feel?
