Born Minnie Julia Riperton on November 8, 1947, in Chicago, IL; daughter of Daniel and Thelma Riperton; died on July 12, 1979, in Los Angeles, CA; married Richard Rudolph (a songwriter and producer); children: Maya and Marc.
Memberships: National Education Chairwoman, American Cancer Society.
Awards
Presented with the American Cancer Society's Courage Award by President Jimmy Carter, 1977; honored posthumously with Communicator With A Conscience Award, The Rod McGrew Scholarship Fund, 1979.
